Traci and Mary were kind enough to help us digitize our beautiful new logo and make sure we had everything we needed to make sure the logo looked great on blue and purple and was consistent when we sent it to other companies. They are local, friendly, reasonably priced, and deliver to your door! In addition to uniform tops they can also embroider jackets, fleece, bags and nap mats.

Effective for the 2018-2019 school year, Metairie Academy is adopting a new school logo. The new logo is a variation of the one shown below, which we have been using for over a year. The embroidered logo is simplified, smaller, and has only one book reading “Metairie Academy”. The adjusted logo contains a lower thread count, which saves parents money when embroidering as well as allowing us to keep the logo consistent amongst companies.
Please note this is a SOFT LAUNCH for 2018-2019. This means that while encouraged, the new logo is not yet required. No child will be sent home or forced to change for wearing the old logo. We understand that there is a transition period and will accommodate that as much as possible. Additionally as we have worked with logo uniform and embroidery stores we have given them permission to sell off any existing merchandise but to use the new logo for future orders. We ask that parents use the new logo for all future new uniform purchases.
All children are encouraged to wear the new logo for uniform picture days.
Below are a list of Frequently Asked Questions. Also below is the status of a majority of the local uniform and embroidery shops. It is a process to get the logo propagated to each of them and approved. We appreciate your patience as we move through this process with each company. Please check this list frequently as we will update it regularly. If you have a specific company not on the list let us know and we will reach out to them.

What is the new logo?
The new logo is shown above. It is a full Mustang backed by an M with a single book that reads “Metairie Academy”. There are only three colors: Navy, Yellow/Gold and White.
Is the New Logo Required?
For the 2018-2019 school year we are softly launching the logo. We understand that there is a transition period during which children may wear the old logo. We will NOT send children home or make them change if they are wearing the old logo. However we ask that all new purchases be with the new logo and only through approved vendors as listed below. We are happy to reach out to a vendor of your choosing if they are not on the list already!
Will the logo be distributed to other local retailers?
Yes. We are reaching out to as many reputable, cooperative vendors as we can locally as well as any popular online retailers. Please see the list below to find the status of your favorite retailer. Again, we are happy to reach out to them. Please note that some retailers are not interested in using the proper logo. As such we do not recommend them and, in future school years, uniforms provided with those retailer’s logos will not be allowed.
Will there be a Uniform Swap this Summer?
Yes, we will still have the Uniform Swap (dates TBD)! We will focus on uniform bottoms (pants, shorts and skirts/skorts) and jumpers. Most “old logo” shirts that are in quality condition are held by the front office for accidents during the school year. Anything else donated that is not good quality will either be disposed of or donated. You are welcome to pass down your current uniforms to parents in younger grades. Please note that we have very little purple from year to year due to children needing it for Pre-K and Kindergarten now. It is best to purchase your purple uniforms from one of our approved suppliers.
Why was the logo changed?
Over the past few years it has become a problem across all public schools that some uniform suppliers attempted to digitize their own version of the logo without getting the ‘official’ version from the schools. This affected Metairie Academy as well. Many schools, including our sister school Airline Park, have begun to launch a new logo as a result of this. Because of this the “old” logo looked different depending upon where the uniform was purchased. Additionally the logo somehow became the ‘official’ logo of the school only because it was available.
We are proud of our school. We wanted to create a logo that represented our strong level of academics and accomplishments, and we wanted to be able to control how it was distributed. Over the past two school years we have worked with several vendors and parents to accomplish this, resulting in our beautiful new look!
Will the uniforms change?

These stores have either been contacted and are working on implementing the new logo or have not responded to us. We do not recommend shopping with them at this time but will continue to make attempts to get the new logo confirmed with them.
